THE DISPATCH / Developer guide
How to share your indie game with Indie Gem Dispatch
By Indie Gem Dispatch ·
A practical submission checklist: a playable link, a clear pitch, accurate release information and press assets you have permission to share.
Start with a link we can open
Send the official Steam or itch.io page rather than a private download attachment. If the game is not publicly playable, say so. A store listing, playable browser version and downloadable demo are different things; label the link accurately.
Explain the player’s action
One concrete sentence usually helps more than a list of adjectives. Tell us what players do, what constraint makes it interesting, and where they can try it. Our directory entries for Fofumia and Petaldoku show two different kinds of puzzle games; their official pages are the sources for the facts we list.
Separate facts from plans
Include the studio name, supported platforms and current release status. Mark future platforms and launch dates as plans when they are not confirmed. If a demo or trailer is unavailable, leave that field blank rather than promising one.
Give us permission to tell the story
Share a press kit only if you control the assets or have permission to distribute them. Tell us how the developer and artists should be credited. Sending a link does not imply permission to re-upload every video or image on it.
What happens after a submission
The current submission form prepares a private message to @IndieGemHQ on X. You review and send it there; the site does not store the form. We review messages manually, and submitting does not guarantee coverage. We do not publish games automatically or sell a positive review.
