A playable introduction to Netherwake

Norwegian studio NALYCAN has pointed Indie Gem Dispatch readers toward Netherwake, its upcoming first-person horror game. The official Steam listing includes a demo and gives November 12, 2026 as the planned full-game release date.

The setup moves from a world overtaken by strange fog to a research facility beneath a mountain. The developer describes exploration, hiding from anomalies and environmental puzzles, rather than presenting the game as a straightforward combat shooter.

Why the demo is the useful starting point

For horror players, a trailer can establish the imagery but cannot settle how comfortable the camera, darkness or audio will feel during play. A demo offers a more direct way to decide whether the presentation suits you.

The game’s emphasis on evasion also matters when choosing what to expect. Being interested in horror does not necessarily mean wanting repeated confrontation; read the store description and watch the official gameplay footage before committing to a download. These are selection considerations, not conclusions from our own playthrough.

Release plans and sources

The developer’s reply included artwork promoting the demo during Steam’s Halloween event. That promotional window and the full game’s November release are separate dates. Check the current Steam listing for demo availability after the event.
