A demo built around lane decisions

SeeGrid has shared Stick Wars: The Laneborn with Indie Gem Dispatch in response to our invitation for indie developers. The solo developer highlighted online 1v1 in the free demo; the official Steam listing also confirms three playable campaign levels.

Its premise puts economic decisions ahead of direct troop control. Three lanes compete for attention while deployments and upgrades determine where pressure builds. That makes the demo a useful entry point for readers curious about lane strategy without committing to the full release.

What is playable, and what is still planned

The demo’s campaign and online matches are available now, according to the developer. The full game’s Steam page lists March 31, 2027 as its planned release date. Additional systems described in the development roadmap should not be confused with the current demo.

The important distinction for prospective players is scope: a free introduction is not a free copy of the finished game. Start with the demo’s available stages, and use the developer’s feedback channels to report issues in this early build.

Where to try it

The official Steam page links to the demo and identifies SeeGrid as developer and publisher. For a match with a friend, check the demo’s current instructions and online requirements before arranging a session.
